After enduring the heartbreak of three miscarriages former Emmerdale star Adele Silva is finally looking ahead to the birth of her first child – but she admits her past traumas have made her cautious.
The 34-year-old actress is six and a half weeks away from welcoming her first child with businessman fiancé Oliver Farber.
But while she looks ahead to the imminent birth, Adele admits suffering three consecutive miscarriages has stifled the potential joy that comes with making last minute preparations for the new arrival.

Plenty to talk about: The former soap star admits she and her husband initially paid out for private treatment to determine why she was consistently miscarrying – and they were stunned with the results
‘I also had elevated killer cells, which they can’t even test for in this country – they test in America – which is where your embryo is implanted your immune system fights it because they think it’s a foreign body, and the third thing was underactive thyroid because I actually wasn’t falling pregnant that quickly.’
With the birth just weeks away, the cautious star says she’s still apprehensive about potential risks to her unborn child.
‘As soon as I thin got pregnant again I had this massive plan of action on what action to take, stages to go through and so on, so each stage has kind of been bittersweet because although you’re like "brilliant I’ve got to this point" or "brilliant I’ve got to that point" you’re still not completely out of the danger zone,’ she said.

Speaking last year, Adele revealed she turned down a return to Emmerdale for her onscreen sister’s final scenes after learning of her pregnancy.
She said: 'I want this to be a success story. It sounds awful but I wasn't remotely excited before my five-month scan.
'I didn't want to think about it just in case it was bad news. Now I'm excited but I always touch wood. I know I'm extremely lucky to get this far.'
Adele's on-screen sister Donna had terminal cancer but died in a shocking twist which saw her throw herself off the side of a building while handcuffed to a criminal.
Adele first appeared in Emmerdale in 1993 when she was introduced as the daughter of Viv and Vic Windsor.
