'Bold and the Beautiful' Star Hit by a Car Both Legs Broken

"The Bold and the Beautiful" star Linsey Godfrey was run over by a car Monday in L.A. while she was walking down a sidewalk.

Cops tell us Godfrey was struck around 2:30 PM and got pinned underneath the car. When emergency responders arrived, a citizen had already moved her from the wreckage ... and she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.

We're told the car that hit Godfrey veered onto the sidewalk after getting into an accident with another vehicle. Neither driver was arrested.

Cops say she suffered 2 broken legs ... and is currently in surgery.

Game Of Thrones season five trailer is leaked online following IMAX debut

Game Of Thrones fans are scrambling online to get a first look at the new trailer of season five of the hit TV series.

The two-minute clip was supposed to be exclusively revealed to those who paid for tickets for a special HBO IMAX event.

But despite the best efforts of the cinema household guard, the trailer was secretly filmed and posted online.

All the favourites from the series make an appearance including Jaime and Cersei Lannister, Arya and Sansa Stark, Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish, Jorah Mormont, Melisandre, Margaery and Olenna Tyrell, as well as Tyrion Lannister with a new bearded look.


Some new characters also appear including Nymeria Sand (Jessica Henwick), one of the eight bastard daughters of Oberynn Martell (Pedro Pascal), who was killed at the end of season four.

One of the trailer's tantalising opening shots shows her prowess with a whip as she splits a barrel off a man's head.

Set to an ominous, creeping cover of David Bowie's Heroes, the clip shows Lord Varys (Conleth Hill) with Tyrion - played by Peter Dinklage - now fleeing Westeros after escaping jail and murdering his father, as they arrive in Essos across the Narrow Sea.

The trailer then cuts to the girl everybody is waiting for: Daeneys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), along with a quick flash of her fire-breathing dragon, Drogon, named after her late Dothraki husband Drogo.

'I'm not going to stop the wheel - I'm going to break the wheel,' Khaleesi says, with some intriguing clips of goings on in Meereen where she currently reigns.

It shows what appears to be the fighting pits where gladiators battle to the death... as well as a shot of her former knight and confidant Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) squaring up against a menacing

Eric Macheru: From a soccer player to a TV star

For those who did not know, the Skeem Saam’s ‘Leeto’, real name Eric Macheru was actually a soccer player and played for Ajax Cape Town after winning the Soccer Kings competition in 2005.


Before coming into the acting scene, Macheru was a professional soccer player but his career fell short after getting an injury.

“I had an injury that could not heal and I had to stop playing.

“But there were also a lot of stories that came up about me but I do not want to talk about them,” said Macheru.

After jumping onto the acting bandwagon, Macheru equipped himself with a degree in film.

Aiming to do more than just read a written script in front of a camera, Eric Macheru is currently busy studying multimedia at AFDA.

He says he decided to add multimedia to his film degree as it will help him move into his passion which is advertising and communication.

“I want to jump into advertising, like the creative space of it including copywriting and conceptualising.

“So I just want to study and have at least a basic know how of the industry,” said Macheru.

He said that the he did not let the nomination into the top six sexiest males in Mzansi get to his head.

“It is humbling that these things happen when you are just sitting at home and people tell you that you are nominated.

“It’s not something that goes to my head because obviously it is not a skill, it’s not talent. It means a lot that people think I am sexy,” said Macheru.

He said that being nominated as Sowetan LIVE’s Mzansi’s sexiest came as a surprise because he is just a simple guy and has not even thought about doing things that make him sexy.

“I’m just a guy’s guy, in my room there’s just lotion, roll-on and zambuk, that’s it.”

He says that he did not expect to win and thinks that Pearl Modiadie and Nkululeko deserved the titles.

He said that he is happy at Skeem Saam and the primetime slot they were given after Generations ran out of episode was great because they were able to attract 8 million viewers.

“The support is out of this world and people love it. So far so good for the show.

e.tv changes its primetime to take on SABC

Cape Town – e.tv is changing its entire primetime line-up from Monday 2 March, adding a half-hour weekday Zulu TV news bulletin and incorporating the fired Generations actors into its new 20:00 telenovela to take on the SABC in the battle that matters most – the one for viewers.

From March, e.tv moves its popular weekday soap Rhythm City from 18:30 to 19:00 directly opposite SABC3’s struggling Isidingo, which is also when e.tv’s new telenovela of 104 episodes will start opposite the SABC1’s reset Generations – The Legacy which is struggling in the ratings.

e.tv plans to pounce and has added the very actors the SABC fired into its own 20:00 timeslot where viewers want to see them, teasing a "regeneration of 8pm".

e.tv will launch its first half hour Zulu TV news bulletin, eNews Izindaba at 18:30 from March and is moving its primetime news bulletin to 20:30.

'New shows during primetime throughout the year'

e.tv on Wednesday night announced the major expected scheduling changes to its line-up, with the free-to air terrestrial TV channel saying that in 2015 the channel will be introducing new shows during primetime throughout the year.

e.tv's new telenovela of 104 episodes will be broadcast from Mondays to Thursdays at 20:00. The new polygamy drama series Umlilo will also start on Monday 2 March in the 21:00 timeslot.

Club 808 is once again moving, but still remains on Fridays, now moving to 18:00. The 20:00 timeslot is taken by a repeat of the first season of Traffic! featuring Bonnie Henna and Bongo Mbutuma, and a new second season set to start this year on e.tv as well.

e.tv says it is moving Rhythm City to 19:00 – where it will be competing against SABC3's Isidingo which has until now been the only local soap in the 19:00 timeslot – "to complete the one and a half hour local drama timeslot".

The 6th season of eKasi: Our Stories moves to Tuesdays at 21:00, half an hour later than its current time.

On 7 April e.tv will also start a new rural drama, Matatiele, which takes over the 21:00 timeslot. Matatiele is based and shot on location in the Matatiele village in the Eastern Cape.

'New primetime been in planning for years'

e.tv says its changing its primetime line-up to remain competitive as a linear terrestrial TV channel in South Africa. Monde Twala, managing director for e.tv channels division says "the new primetime schedule has been in planning for a few years".

"e.tv aims to be at the forefront of this growth [in local TV content] by not only introducing a high number of new and local genres, [but] we have also improved story-telling, production and directing. This ensures that our content is competitive," says Twala.

"We are on strategy mode, we need ideas and partners to realise these goals. The aim of these programmes is to invest in the development of local content," adds Twala, saying that "the list is very long for 2015" of what e.tv wants to try and do.

"Every year we make sure that we go big, fresher and better. We are happy about the natural growth of our channels, we want more, and we want to grow bigger. Our vision still remains, to be the destination of choice.”

5FM traffic reporter Sol Phenduka suspended

5FM traffic reporter and contributor Sol Phenduka and the station's breakfast show manager Brendon Lombard have been suspended following comments made on air on Thursday morning.

Phenduka was talking about the murders of the Van Breda family in Stellenbosch on the "Fresh or Vrot" segment on Thursday morning when he made offending comments.

The only survivor of the Van Breda family murder was 16-year-old Marli van Breda.

"Sol referred to her survival as 'fresh' because she was the only person who can identify her killer," 5FM said in a statement.

"His comments, which included him saying she was 'gorgeous' and that he would 'like to axe her out', but that he 'wouldn't X her', have been seen as insensitive, with social media accusing him of making jokes far too soon after such a tragic event."

The Van Breda family were attacked in their home in the De Zalze Golf Estate in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Marli van Breda's father Martin van Breda, 55, his wife Teresa, 54, and older brother Rudi, 22, were killed. Her other brother Henri, 20, survived.

5FM apologised to its listeners who were offended by Phenduka's comments saying it had decided to suspend him and the show's producer.

The station has also decided to pull the "Fresh or Vrot" feature from the morning show.

"5FM management considers this morning's Fresh and Vrot feature on Fresh@5 to be in utterly poor taste and would like to apologise unreservedly for these comments.

"The station has suspended two members of the team and has also decided to remove the Fresh and Vrot feature completely from the show, effective immediately," it said.

Phenduka took to social networking site Twitter to apologise for his comments.

"I would like to apologise to @5FM listeners who took offence in today "fresh & vrot ". The intention wasn't to offend," he wrote.

SABC admits ratings are down for damaged Generations

Cape Town – The SABC has admitted for the first time that the new Generations – The Legacy on SABC1 is a ratings downer, with the SABC’s chief operating officer (COO) Hlaudi Motsoeneng saying the soap is making money "but I cannot tell you how".

MMSV Productions and the SABC fired the entire principal cast of Generations in October 2014 after they walked off the job more than a year after Motsoeneng personally promised them better contracts in July 2013, which never materialised.

With the SABC mired in scandal and production abruptly halted, the soap disappeared from SABC1 where it was the highest rated show on South African television. It reappeared after a two month absence in December 2014, but the damage was done. Viewers and critics savaged the Mfundi Vundla replacement as the show shed millions of viewers within days who have since stayed away.

The SABC now blames load shedding and the broadcast of Afcon 2015 soccer matches for the sagging ratings of Generations – The Legacy.

Meanwhile, e.tv has taken over some of the fired Generations cast members who will make their debut in e.tv’s new telenovela, Ashes to Ashes, on Monday 2 March at 20:00 in the same timeslot as their erstwhile show.

In what the SABC billed as the "first" in a new series of "quarterly media briefings" by the South African public broadcaster's COO, Motsoeneng and Veronah Duwarkah, the SABC's group executive in charge of television, they admitted that Generations - The Legacy is down from its erstwhile ratings glory and suffered a significant viewer decline.

"It's not doing as great as it was previously," said Duwarkah.

"Generations may not do well but we believe it will improve. We are able to generate revenue here, but I cannot tell you how," said Motsoeneng.

The SABC blamed the Afcon soccer tournament being broadcast on SABC1 with Generations - The Legacy shunted to SABC2 for the ratings drop (although the ratings fell immediately in December 2014 long before Afcon started), as well as load shedding with Eskom being unable to provide electricity to TV households.

The SABC didn't want to talk about Siyaya, the new pay-TV consortium set to launch soon and which scooped up the rights to Bafana Bafana matches which used to be broadcast on the SABC.

Motsoeneng said: "I do not want to talk about Siyaya. We have a relationship with Safa (South African Football Association) and we have a team talking to them".

Johannesburg – Kelly Khumalo opened up about Senzo Meyiwa’s death on television.

As a guest on the SABC 1 gossip show the Real Goboza Kelly talked about her life after the death of Senzo.

According to Times Live the singer said she had to return back to work for the sake of her children. She also added that all she wants for Christmas is for Senzo to come back.

When asked about the claims that Senzo fathered a child by another woman Kelly said she would not entertain the idea.

Days after his funeral the Sunday Times reported that Senzo had a secret love child of about 3 months old by Minenhle Mataba.

The baby boy was born shortly after his daughter with Kelly.

The newspaper further reported that Senzo’s father, Sam Meyiwa had acknowledged the baby’s existence.

During her interview fans poured out their support for Kelly on Twitter.

Hopeful new cast photos for second half of The Walking Dead's season five keep fans guessing as to the fate of the survivors

Fans were dealt a devastating blow with the loss of Beth (Emily Kinney) at the end of the mid-season finale).

But the latest cast photos for the second half of season five of AMC's The Walking Dead seem to give the remaining survivors a bit of hope.

Unlike darker photos shared at the beginning of the season, the portraits show the cast looking resolute - some almost smiling - while a bright light streams in behind them.

It doesn't end there, however, as unlike in previous seasons where one member acted as the group's motivational speaker, encouraging them to go on, it seems that everyone's picking up the slack this season.

‘As soon as I thin got pregnant again I had this massive plan of action on what action to take, stages to go through and so on, so each stage has kind of been bittersweet because although you’re like "brilliant I’ve got to this point" or "brilliant I’ve got to that point" you’re still not completely out of the danger zone,’ she said.

And on Wednesday Home and Away’s Kassandra Clementi hit the sand very early in the morning, wearing mis-matched bikini with beanie hat.

The Adelaide born star, who plays Madeline ‘Maddy’ Osbourne on the popular soap opera, also showed off her stunning beach body and very toned abs as she relaxed with a family member.
Sitting with her arms behind her, Kassandra looked as though she was deep in thought as she stared out into the distance as the young girl next to her looked equally pensive.
Along with the melancholy shot she captured the mood writing: ‘6am surf/swim sunrise with the family. What a world.’

Kassandra is a big fan of Australian nature and can often be seen walking barefoot.
